Ever since I tweeted that I have installed iPhone 2.0 and downloaded apps from the app store, I’ve gotten countless IM’s, DM’s, and e-mails asking me how. It’s been all over the Internet all morning, so it’s no secret, but Wired has now published a comprehensive, step-by-step guide that is probably the simplest to follow that I’ve seen. So, get on it. Django is totally “wired,” according to this month’s magazine. It feels good to be on the bleeding edge. Well, except that I’m still into teledildonics, which is now “Tired.” Damn. Visit site »

Wired’s story on 37signals is a good read — fair, balanced, and interesting. There are a few factual inaccuracies and a few odd comments (like “they would rather fail than adapt,” in the last paragraph), but overall it’s quite well-done. Visit site »

A nice story at Wired. Back when the iPhone was released, I said it was the most revolutionary device since 1984. I now believe that more than ever. It’s not because I believe in a couple years, everyone will have an iPhone (they might, but I doubt it) — it’s because of the way the iPhone has shaken up the mobile industry so much — already. Huckabee says it “doesn’t matter” whether he believes in evolution or not, with regard to his presidential candidacy. But he’s missing the point: a president will be signing science research budgets into law and getting advice from scientists on topics like terrorism, the environment, and medicine. If he is willing to ignore data that has been proven via science (like the fact that the Earth is 4.5 billion years old, not 6,000), will he also ignore other research and advice from top scientists? It does matter. We need to know if Huckabee believes in the scientific process, because how he does major parts of his job will depend on the answer. Visit site »

Building on his post at Wired’s blog earlier this week, Scott Gilbertson now has a full article on the Wired front page, and again quotes me. I know it seems silly, but this is really cool to me. I’ve been reading Wired since its inception in the early 90s, so to be quoted on their website is pretty neat. And, they didn’t even get me using an F-bomb, this time. :) Visit site »

A life long goal of mine is to be mentioned in Wired magazine. Today, I’m in their blog. That’s pretty close, right? It even calls me a “prominent developer.” But most importantly, it quotes me (accurately, even!), dropping an F-bomb. Classy, Jeff. Real classy.

Thanks, Wired. :) Visit site »

Django gets a little love from Scott Gilbertson at Wired.com, including this cute quote: “Django is a framework built on Python that you can use to build a Content Management System or a blogging tool, but it is not limited to that. In fact Django reminds me a bit of the character in Airplane who always answers the “what do you make of that?” question literally… Why, I can make a hat or a brooch or a pterodactyl…” Visit site »

Gown removed carelessly. Head, less so,” writes Joss Whedon. And that’s the whole story. In the spirit of Hemingway’s classic six-word story, Wired asked 33 sc-fi writers to take a stab at the very short story, and then had designers, the likes of which include Chip Kidd, visually represent them. Awesome stuff. Via Brian Ford. Visit site »
