A nice piece on Webmonkey about how to build a basic tumblelog with Django. The technique used is similar in concept (but a bit simpler) than what I’ve done here at jeffcroft.com. Note, though, that the Django signals bit in the article refers to the syntax for signals before a recent API change, so you’ll need minor changes to the code in the article to make it work with the current version of Django. NonSociety is “your window into [the] crazy lives” of a handful of women — notably, Julia Allison. Basically, it’s a few tumblelogs of hot chicks. More importantly (to me, anyway), the “lifecasts” have a clever and good-looking horizontal-scrolling design. I dig it. Via Rex.
Just curious: anyone know if they’re using Tumblr to power the thing? Visit site »
Jeff Palmer’s attractive and inventive tumblelog design. I love it. Via Wilson. Visit site »
Kristin has a really pretty new take on the tumblelog (of lifestream, as she’s calling it). This, and a few others I’ve seen recently, puts mine to shame and really gets me excited about the concept again. You can count on a revamped version of mine coming down the pipe. :) Visit site »
Jake Nickell (of SkinnyCorp/Threadless) has a pretty cool take on the Tumblelog at his site. Visit site »
