The iphone 3g is nice (I own the black one) but I still like the way the old one looks. There is something very sexy about the silver/black combination.
@GB: Yeah, I wondered about that, too. Then I remembered I’m a whore who buys a new phone every year anyway, so it really doesn’t matter.
@Brian: I’ve seen those reports, too. Same thing — as regularly as I upgrade, I’m not terribly concerned.
@Alex: I sort of like the silver/black, as well, but otherwise I prefer the 3G’s design. The curvier back feels better in your hand, as does the plastic (feels less likely to slip). And, the original one had the ugly plastic piece on the bottom. The 3G design looks better, with it being all one piece.
Keegan’s comment perplexes me: all the designers *I* know (until right now), bought black, all the developers bought white.
I have the black one, but I’d prefer a silver one. I still touch my original one every few days :)
@Jeff: white is for girls (see iJustine), unless you live in Miami, in which case it’s the official color of South Beach males.
There’s just something about white that appeals to my senses. Clean, simple, elegant. Call me girly if you like (it wouldn’t be the first time), but I dig the white.
