Walk Score, a site I really love, now has a ranking of Seattle’s most walkable neighborhoods. What’s really cool here, from the perspective of a web designer/developer, is the heat map and neighborhood boundary overlays they’ve done with Google maps. Good stuff.

This, I bet, will be pretty awesome for someone looking to move to Seattle. It took me a long time to figure out where all the neighborhoods start and end, let alone trying to figure out where I’d want to live.
In fact, it very accurately shows the neighborhood I spent about six months living unhappily in, Magnolia, as quite orange. Being a non-driving citizen, I wish I had this map back then!

One more thing: I just calculated the walkscore of my new place, where I’m much happier. 98 out of 100, thank you very much!
Gotta love having coffee shops, grocery stores, fitness centers, a movie theatre, bars, restaurants, and even, apparently, a hardware store all within 1/4 mile.
