I’ve always been fascinated by Joshua’s work. Can’t wait to see him at The Future of Web Design New York in November.

Okay — I’ll agree that his work is pretty cool.

    But, this:

Joshua Davis is a design troublemaker. “A lot of printers ask me how I created my work,” he says mischievously. “Because technically, it’s not actually possible.”

Is such typical “artist” speak BS that I have a hard time taking much else of what he has to say seriously. How can something be “technically” impossible if he does it?

It didn’t help when I went on to read his “A different shade of blue” commentary:

I’ll extract those colors, and then I might find a blue that I like in a sunset photo, and extract that as well. Next, I bring those colors into Photoshop. All the colors are by themselves, saying, “I’m a blue, don’t touch me.”

I’d like art a whole lot more if artists never talked. Far and away, the worst part of going to an art school was having to listen to art students talk about their own work. Never before have I heard so much crap. This guy comes pretty darn close, though.
