The kind folks at CoffeeCup Software have posted audio of all the Webmaster Jam Session talks from this past September, including my talk on web typography, and the Web Design Roundtable, on which I participated. The audio comes in the form of a podcast you can subscribe to in iTunes or your favorite podcast application.

I was pretty proud of my type talk in Dallas. I felt like it went over really well and had a lot of good information on web typography. The roundtable was also pretty great, with a lot of good questions and answers (yes, someone even asked me about CSS frameworks!).

There were a lot of great sessions at WJS 2007, so be sure to give ‘em all a listen — and come down to the Big D for the event next year!

Enjoy.

You don’t sound like I thought you would.

What Maura said. carries on listening

Your session was awesome, the slides look a lot better without that blueish purple tint on them too. haha. Heard any rumors about who will be speaking at the next webmaster jam?

Thanks for Posting this Jeff. It has lots of great information, quotes, and resources.

During the talk you mentioned that you weren’t sure why the white line developed as a standard paragraph separator on the web. I’m not 100% positive, but I believe that convention was established before css was invented (or at least widely implemented) and therefore before the text-indent property existed.

Wow, Jeff thanks for sharing this typography is by far my weakest point in design and have been working on getting better and this helped me quite a bit.

    Again Thank you.

What Maura and Matt said, plus thank you (and CoffeeCup) for making it available.

After all the work i’ve been doing, time to put aside some time and listen to the rest.

Thanks for posting the audio links and the slides. The typography pres is one of the better presentations I’ve heard on anything design-related in a while - not just web design - thanks!

Hey Jeff, thanks for the links to the audio and the slides. I didn’t make it to the event but I think that’s the best presentation on web typography I’ve come across. Everything’s broken down in an easy to understand way with some great practical examples. Plenty of food for thought to consider for the next web project.

    Thanks!
