Okay, that might be a little extreme. Still, the young guns that are dominating the sport of snowboarding, as noted by this week’s Winter X Games VIII, have every bit of the flair, style, and attitude of Jordan, Tiger, and LeBron — and all the skills, to boot.
Couple that with the fact that athletes like Hannah Teter, Shaun White, and Elena Hight (who I had the uhm…pleasure…of riding on a bus with in Breckenridge, CO) are absolutley man (and woman) handling the competition — in what is said to be the fastest growing sport in the world (in terms of both activity and popularity) — and you could well be talking about the next ultra-uber-superstars.
I hope so, anyway. These kids are fun.

Yeah, man, I know. Sean White is so damn talented it’s crazy. I mean there are some guys out there who’ve blown my mind over the years, Tony Hawk, Travis Pastrana, and Mike Metzger come to mind, but Sean White seems to be even a step up from those guys at times.

Shaun White, at age 17, is so much better than the rest of the field it almost doesn’t seem fair. It’s just ridiculous. Can’t wait for tonight’s superpipe finals…

hannah teter is so awesome. i mean shes 16 and goes out there and rips it up like any pro ive seen. she’s a leader to any girl looking into sowboarding. i love her. she is so great.
